Don’t wait for the standard model: The budget-friendly iPhone 17e is rumored to arrive early! Check out the specs, from the A19 chip to the upgraded camera.
The iPhone 17e will make an early release in the new year and will introduce flagship-level technology in a more affordable model. The major additions are the new A19 processor, the aesthetic enhancement of the Dynamic Island display, and better 18MP front camera. This model is also remarkable because it is likely to be the cheapest device with the support of Apple Intelligence.
Apple has kept its plans on the next generation secret but the leaks have been deafening. After the recent release of the iPhone 17 line, the interest turned to the iPhone 17e that is expected to be released at the beginning of next year. The new iPhone entry-level model is projected to be released as a significant release cycle which might feature the 12th-generation iPad and a new MacBook, and insiders have already described all of its key features.
Features of iPhone 17e
1.Upgraded Powerful Processor
As the iPhone 16e used the A18 chip in its current variant, its next generation is expected to get A19 processor, which will place the phone at all-time iPhone 17 level. This new System-on-a-Chip (SoC) will be designed with 8GB of RAM to integrate into the new device smoothly and hiccup-free, supporting all the on-device Apple Intelligence functions.
Apple is also said to be increasing its component independence by switching back to in-house silicon again in place of Qualcomm technology. The iPhone 17e is also expected to use Apple custom C1 cellular modem and a new N1 wireless chip. This N1 chip is supposed to introduce upcoming generation wireless features to the device which will support Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth.
2.Display upgrade
One of the key visual flaws of the iPhone 17e is the replacement of the outdated notch with the Dynamic Island, which, in turn, brings its design to the current level. Conversely, the display performance will probably be a trade off by the device. It will likely be based on a 6.1-inch OLED display but will be capable of a non-variable 60Hz refresh rate. The essential missing feature of the LTPO panel is that the user will miss out on the fluid 120Hz ProMotion experience found on the pricier iPhone 17.

3.Upgraded Camera
The iPhone 17e will be the first phone with a significant selfie camera improvement, switching to the 18MP Centre Stage front camera of the expensive iPhone 17 line. Conversely, the phone will most probably remain with a single camera sensor at the back.
This is rolled out at a more than fluid time in the Apple product line: the company is even expected to launch its first foldable phone next September which may be a cause of the delays. There is even speculation that the standard iPhone 17 will be pushed to 2027 and the iPhone Air 2 is unlikely to appear in 2026.
