Nissan Motor India is beginning its re-entry into the Indian automotive market and it can be said that the Indian automotive market is undergoing a strategic change.
The company announced December 18, 2025 that its much-hyped 7-seater B-segment MPV will be called the Nissan Gravite 2026. This launch is a turning point in the history of the brand since it aims to regain the family car segment by a product that is tailor-made to meet the multi-faceted demands of the Indian families.
An Attraction Based Design Language
The name Gravite would be based on the word gravity which according to Nissan, means a sense of balance and an inherent stability and a very strong sense of attraction. Although the car has the same structural DNA as the Renault Triber, the nissan gravite launch is not just another rebadge car.
The teaser images that have been posted along with the name provide us with an aggressive front fascia. The Nissan Gravite is based on the CMF-A + design under the skin, which is a tested foundation of the Renault Nissan Alliance. This less than 4 meters platform is the key to the competitive prices and tax advantages that the car is expected to have.
The main selling point of the Nissan Gravite 2026 is the ultra-modular seating. As the Triber layout was successful, the Gravite will provide a three-row design with the third row being fully removable.
